End the War NOW

We need to end the war NOW. What is it about the word NOW that the Democrats and Republicans don’t understand? 

The war was THE issue in the 2006 elections. Democrats like Ron Kind were sent to Congress to end it. They didn’t. Fire them! 

The war will cost us up to five trillion dollars. That is hundreds of times more than the liars who started it said it would cost. 

The war has ruined our economy. They said we’d get cheap oil from Iraq. Instead, gas prices have gone from less than two dollars a gallon to four dollars a gallon and are heading towards ten dollars a gallon. 

The war has ruined our reputation in the world. The USA used to be the world’s favorite nation, including among Muslims. The BS about how “they hate us” was a lie. In Turkey, before the war, the USA had an 80% approval rating. Now it’s closer to 10%. Now they really are starting to hate us. 

The war is an illegal, Nazi-style war of aggression. Iraq never attacked us. They never even threatened us. Even if Saddam Hussein had illegally held hundreds of nuclear weapons, like Israel does, he would have posed no meaningful threat to the US, which could have annihilated his country in a heartbeat. But every informed person knew he had no WMDs. The whole thing was a lie. It was about raping the taxpayer on behalf of Haliburton and destroying Iraq on behalf of Israel.  

The invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq are the two greatest war crimes since Hitler invaded Poland. Both wars were set in stone before 9/11, which was just a pretext. The people who planned and directed them are war criminals. They need to be tried at a war crimes tribunal. And every company that profited from the war needs to be seized and nationalized and sold off, with the proceeds distributed to the American taxpayers. The executives should be tried for war crimes alongside Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rice, Wolfowitz, Perle, and the rest of the neocon neo-nazis. 

After we have ended the war, jailed the war criminals, and broken up and sold off the criminal corporations, we can get down to the business of rebuilding America. Our task is simple: END THE EMPIRE, RESTORE THE REPUBLIC!
