Take Back Our Freedom

America is the land of the free, right? Not any more! In May, 2007, Bush signed Presidential Directive #51. In it, Bush claimed the right to declare a state of emergency any time he likes, without consulting anyone or getting anyone’s permission. Bush claimed the right to seize control of the entire federal government, the state governments, the local governments, and any private property he wants, any time he wants. All he has to do is say the magic word, “emergency!”  

Bush has repealed habeus corpus, the basis of freedom in Western law since the Magna Carta was signed in 1297. He insists the president has the right to kidnap, torture, or murder anyone, any time—including American citizens—in secret, without following any legal process. He actually did this to US citizen Jose Padilla, who was secretly kidnapped and tortured until he was a human vegetable, without being charged with any crime. (Three-and-a-half years later, after Padilla’s mind had been destroyed by torture, they finally charged him with a crime, and tried him on trumped-up charges in a kangaroo court.)  Congress retroactively approved Bush's blatantly illegal, treasonous behavior with the Military Commissions Act of 2006.  

Bush's assault on liberty opened with the "USA Patriot Act," which is more accurately termed the "Treason Act." The Treason Act was carefully prepared before 9/11 and rammed through Congress after US government anthrax had been mailed to its two main potential opponents, Tom Daschle and Patrick Leahy. It gives the feds the right to secretly break and enter your house without having probable cause to believe you've committed a crime – a clear violation of the Constitutional prohibition of unreasonable searches and seizures. It lets the feds nose around in your library records. And it set the stage for the other attacks on the Constitution that followed. My opponent Ron Kind, not only voted for the treasonous Patriot Act of 2001, he actually defied the majority of his party and voted for Patriot Act 2 which is even worse than the original. 

HR 1955, the Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act of 2007, otherwise known as the ThoughtCrime Bill, creates a Joe McCarthy style witch-hunt commission to persecute people who think politically incorrect thoughts. It specifically targets the internet, the last bastion of free speech in America. Ron Kind and most Democrats actually voted FOR this insane bill! The founding fathers of the USA must be rolling over in their graves! Thomas Jefferson, for one, was not afraid of "violent radicalization." He led a revolution! Later, he said "every generation needs a new revolution." If he were with us today, Jefferson would say that we're two centuries overdue. 

The Real ID act creates a Nazi-style "your papers, please" national identity card. The national ID cards would soon carry an RFID identity chip that would make the Mark of the Beast look like a kindergarten name-tag.  (To join the fight against Real ID, email Aaron Bolinger: aaron(at)nvcca.net.)

The "John Warner Defense Authorization Act of 2007" (H.R.5122) set the stage for martial law and the official destruction of the Constitution of the United States of America. As Frank Morales wrote in his award-winning article entitled "Bush Moves Toward Martial Law": "(H.R.5122) allows the President to declare a 'public emergency' and station troops anywhere in America and take control of state-based National Guard units without the consent of the governor or local authorities, in order to 'suppress public disorder.'" The good news is that angry governors recently got the offending provision repealed. The bad news is that Bush still says he can make himself dictator at the stroke of a pen, any time he chooses, without consulting with the other branches of government (see NSPD 51). 

Meanwhile, Haliburton subsidiary Kellog, Brown and Root, allegedly a major participant in the international heroin trade, has been awarded $385 million taxpayer dollars to build concentration camps in the USA. The contracts were offered by the treasonous Department of Homeland Security and its dual-citizen chief, Michael Chertoff. Kellog, Brown and Root is not only a heroin-dealing operation, it's also a hotbed of gang-rapists. And KBR's National Security State partner-in-crime, DynCor, another likely participant in the impending American concentration camps, hosts an international child prostitution ring. Are these really the people you want running your concentration camp?  

University of California professor Peter Dale Scott points out that Cheney and Rumsfeld are at the heart of a decades-old plan to destroy the Constitution of the United States of America. While the Orwellian name for this plan is "Continuity of Government" (COG) it is actually a plan to DESTROY Constitutional continuity of government, and establish a dictatorship in its place. Evidence suggests that the Constitution may have been secretly abolished on 9/11/01, and a permanent COG dictatorship established, without any public announcement or acknowledgment. 

Is this ongoing destruction of freedom intended to make America strong? Hardly! On the contrary, it is meant to rip out the heart of our nation. It is part of a stealth war against the USA by international financiers, as Richard Cook explains here. 

It is time for a new American revolution to reclaim the freedom our founding fathers and mothers fought for. Send me to Washington and I will be a modern day Tom Paine, banging the drums for the freedom revolution.
