By Kevin Barrett Since I was hounded out of academia by Steve Nass and the Journal-Sentinel Corporation, Wisconsin's biggest media monopoly, I have been working as an independent radio journalist for RBN, GCN, WTPRN, and No Lies Radio – check out my complete schedule here. These small, independent networks are doing great work. But the corporate media are a disgrace. They are liars, just like Tass and Pravda in the old Soviet Union. The Soviet people finally realized they were being lied to. They started reading mimeographed sheets instead of newspapers. Americans today are waking up to the lies of the corporate media, and getting their news from uncensored sources on the internet. Why are the corporate media so bad? Because, just like in the Soviet Union, a powerful few control the major media. Today, virtually every major media market in America is under monopoly control. This is unacceptable. The solution is simple: The Antitrust Division of the Justice Department needs to bust up the big media monopolies.
We don't
need more government rules and regulations to fix our media. We just need
free competition. To get it, we should smash the media monopolies into tens
of thousands of pieces. |
